Hasson Siding

In August of 2002, Metrolink extended the Hasson siding from 2,000’ to 8,000’. The signal at CP Hasson, which controlled the turnout at the east end of the siding stood directly adjacent to the depot. The signal now lies approximately 6,000’ east; standing just outside the 7,000’ long tunnel 26.

Current Rail Traffic

Current rail traffic on Metrolink’s Ventura Subdivision consists of Amtrak, Metrolink, and Union Pacific trains. Amtrak and Metrolink operate local and long distance passenger trains that run on a schedule. Union Pacific operates freight traffic up and down the busy line. Weekly trains can be seen departing the well-known Gemco Yard in Van Nuys, carrying automobiles to and from Port Hueneme in Oxnard and serving the needs of rural farmers on the Central Coast.
